Originally from the sun-soaked shores of Ibiza, Spain, and now shaking things up in Vancouver, Miki has been smashing the drums for over two decades. Starting out in the suburban skate punk scene of the Balearic Islands, he's now fully plugged into Vancouver's music scene.
I started out playing skate punk in the Balearic Islands and I've been doing it in Vancouver ever since. Fast punk is still where my hands go by default. But twenty years gets you around, and the rest has been rock, metal, grunge and whatever the session needed that day.
Right now I drum for Lift the Anchor, melodic punk, and Granite, which is heavier and a lot more fun to play live. Before those, Bound By None and Diera. They're all on the bands page โ or skip that and go straight to the videos, which is quicker.
Most of my work is remote drum recording. Send me the song โ a demo, a phone recording, a programmed sketch, doesn't matter what state it's in โ and you get real drums back, played on a real kit, as separate stems your mixer can actually use.
I also write drum parts for songs that don't have them yet, teach online and in person around Vancouver, tune and set up kits, and rent out backline when a band rolls into town without one.
All of it is on the services page.
Vancouver, BC. Remote work goes anywhere. More about me โ
Separate from the drumming, I keep Punk BC: a running list of every punk, hardcore and metal show I can find in British Columbia. Dates, venues, who else is on the bill. It's free and it's staying free โ I built it because the alternative was checking six Instagram accounts and a group chat.
Browse Vancouver, Victoria, or by band if you're following someone in particular. Playing a show that isn't on there? Send it in. ๐ค
There's also a free drum game in there โ three lanes, twelve of my own tracks, and the charts are detected from the recordings rather than written by hand. It runs in a browser, phone included.
